Nicola Slade was brought up in Poole, Dorset. She wrote children’s stories when her three children were growing up, moving on to adult short stories for several national magazines. This is her first published novel. She enjoys travelling and has lived in Egypt. She has tried her hand at antiques dealing and receives commissions for her artwork. Nicola, her husband, and a cat live near Winchester in Hampshire.
